New
Learn as you play
- The first time you open the game, a short lesson shows the rules on a practice board, then drops you into the game. You can tap Skip to game at any time.
- Practice on every Jello's page: a small board that shows exactly what its power does.
- How to Play is now one card, with a Show me how link that replays the lesson.
Fastest times
- Every level has a Top 10 of the fastest wins. Open it from the level-complete screen, the level map, or the By Level button on the leaderboard.
- Your time is sent when you win a level on your own. Times that are not possible are ignored.
Invite friends
- Your invite code is now a random 8-letter code like K7MQ-4XPT, so it says nothing about your username. Older codes (a friend's username) still work when typed.
Jellos
- Equip and Upgrade now sit on each Jello's own page, and the list is calmer.
- Gumdrop's Peek now shows the hidden jellies on one plate you tap, instead of the whole board.
- The Jello of the Week and the Jello Party offers are slim rows that open on a tap.
Changed
- A new look for every card. Panels are now glossy jelly panels in their own colour, with a still jelly title. The painted frames, the title lettering and the Close buttons are the same on every screen.
- Lists fade at the edges instead of being cut off, so you can tell when there is more to scroll. Sideways tab rows do the same.
- Wardrobe: four tabs (Jellies, Plates, Frames, Sets). The coin count and the game backgrounds tab are gone, and the list no longer runs under the Close button.
- Quests: cleaner rows with smaller progress bars and no timer pills.
- Level complete is tidier: the headline sits in the card, the rewards have no boxes, and Home, Top 10 and Replay are spread out.
- Shop: the Buy Coins card folds the packs away, and coin counters are gold.
- The in-game background is a little darker so the jellies stand out more.
- Spacing fixes across Settings, Friends, Friend profile, Inbox, Sign in, the Friend Battle lobby, battle results, Out of moves, the Daily Deal, Pick a Look and the game picker, so buttons no longer touch the edges of their card or each other.
Fixed
- Reset Tutorial now really replays the lesson. Before, an old save could bring the old progress back.
- Account sign-up and sign-in are protected with Firebase App Check on Android.
- Lots of small things: the Daily Deal price fits its button, the crown on a friend's profile no longer covers the word "Friend", and the Jelly Drop card buttons no longer touch the rim.
Good to know
- Fastest times and friend profiles need an account and an internet connection.
Version 1.16 patch notes
The short version: ranked seasons with rewards, daily and weekly quests, friend profiles with online status, an inbox for invites and requests, emotes and Jello abilities in battles, new frames, and a lot of polish.
New
Ranked seasons
- Ranked now runs in 60-day seasons. The Ranked page shows a countdown to the end of the season.
- When a season ends you earn coins for the best rank you reached: Bronze 100, Silver 250, Gold 500, Platinum 900, Diamond 1,500 and Jelly Monarch 3,000. Your rating then drops half way back towards the start, so everyone has something to climb again.
- Jelly Monarchs get an exclusive Monarch frame that cannot be bought.
- Your rank card shows your season best, and Jelly Monarch has its own crown look.
Battles (Jelly Sort)
- Locked and hidden jellies: about half of all battles now use levels with colour locks, padlocks and "?" jellies, like single play. Every one is checked to be winnable first.
- Your Jello's ability works in battles, at the level you have upgraded it to, including its free starting uses.
- Emotes: a Chat button opens six quick reactions. Only a number is sent, never free text, so there is nothing rude to read. There is a short cooldown and a Mute switch.
- Win streak bonus: win rated battles in a row for extra coins, up to +10 a win (half that against practice bots).
- Your opponent's board looks like theirs: each board is drawn with its owner's own jelly skin and plate style. In Fun Run battles their tower is tinted with their skin.
- The wait before the result card is shorter, and "Board cleared!" appears the moment you finish.
Frames
- Frames are now a thick glossy ring with sparkles. New frames: Lava, Cosmic, Rainbow, and the Rank Frame, which takes the colour of your current rank.
- Your frame colours the whole card: your profile banner, the lobby and the VS screen. Your profile picture gets a ring in the same colour. Your opponent sees your frame, and you see theirs.
Quests
- Three daily and two weekly quests that pay coins: win levels, play and win battles, play Fun Runs. Open Quests on the More tab and tap to claim.
- Daily quests reset at midnight UTC and weekly quests on Monday.
Friends
- Friend profile: tap a friend to see their card and frame, their rank, the level they are on, their Fun Run and Jelly Tower bests, their best rank, ranked wins and losses, the Jello they play with, and your record against them.
- Online status: see whether a friend is online or in a battle. You can switch yours off in Settings, and then nothing about it is stored.
- Inbox: a new envelope button on the home page collects battle invites (Join or No) and friend requests (Accept or No), with a count.
- Blocked list: in the Friends panel, see everyone you have blocked and unblock them.
Account
- On the "Verify email" screen you can now sign out, or delete the account, if you typed the wrong email address.
- Usernames that swap numbers for letters to spell rude words are now caught.
Changed
- Panels now take the colour of the button that opens them. The shop screens (Shop, Hearts, Jelly Pass, Daily Spin) and the Jellos screen are gold. Close buttons are a deeper shade of their panel's colour and line up from screen to screen.
- The Friend Battle lobby is now a proper card like the other panels, with more room between the rows.
- Buttons are glossier, with a defined rim.
- Big coin numbers are shortened: 10,000 shows as "10k" and 10,199 as "10.1k".
- A short wipe now plays between the home page and the level list.
- The Ranked page sits higher, with the season countdown at the bottom.
- In the Wardrobe, the tab you are on stands out and the others fade back.
- Settings has a new Online status switch.
Fixed
- Equipping or buying a frame now updates your profile banner straight away.
- Frame sparkles no longer hide behind the card's border, and there are fewer of them. The coloured end-caps that poked out behind frames in the lobby are gone.
- The buttons at the bottom of the Friends panel no longer touch the edges.
- Wardrobe tabs are fully rounded again; a fade used to clip their bottoms.
Good to know
- Emotes and Jello abilities are for Jelly Sort battles, not Fun Run battles.
- Friend profiles and online status need both players to be on this version.
